The Homotsukan Treasure Hall contains hundreds of art works and other treasures donated over the centuries to the Itsukushima Shrine.
Unfortunately it’s one of those places where they don’t allow photography inside.
The Museum of Historical and Folklore Materials looks much less impressive from the outside, but it has a lot of neat things inside–and no signs forbidding photographs.

The museum was once the house of a wealthy merchant. The central courtyard is an elegant garden.
