That was quite a while ago and one might think that the fans would have long since turned their attention to some newer fad.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/bugfox.net\/fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Portable-shrine.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bugfox.net\/fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Portable-shrine-527x367.jpg\" alt=\"Portable shrine\" width=\"527\" height=\"367\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-9264\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bugfox.net\/fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Portable-shrine-527x367.jpg 527w, https:\/\/bugfox.net\/fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Portable-shrine-150x104.jpg 150w, https:\/\/bugfox.net\/fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Portable-shrine-431x300.jpg 431w, https:\/\/bugfox.net\/fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/Portable-shrine.jpg 799w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 527px) 100vw, 527px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nHowever <a href=\"http:\/\/the-japan-news.com\/news\/article\/0000600354\">according to the <em>Japan News<\/em><\/a> (the English-language edition of the <em>Yomiuri Shinbun<\/em>) the number of anime fans and cosplayers who travel to the shrine has continued to increase year after year. This month&#8217;s Hajisai festival was attended by 1,200 cosplayers. 150 winners of a special lottery were privileged to take turns carrying the <em>Lucky Star<\/em>-themed portable shrine past cheering throngs behind the festival&#8217;s more traditional portable shrine. This certainly isn&#8217;t the only Shinto shrine featured in an anime series.
