It is <em>not<\/em> dark, scary, disturbing or particularly thought-provoking. It is, however, as adorable as a basket full of puppies.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/bugfox.net\/fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Tamako-with-medal.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bugfox.net\/fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Tamako-with-medal-550x309.jpg\" alt=\"Tamako with medal\" width=\"550\" height=\"309\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8631\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bugfox.net\/fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Tamako-with-medal-550x309.jpg 550w, https:\/\/bugfox.net\/fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Tamako-with-medal-150x84.jpg 150w, https:\/\/bugfox.net\/fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Tamako-with-medal-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/bugfox.net\/fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Tamako-with-medal-500x281.jpg 500w, https:\/\/bugfox.net\/fun\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Tamako-with-medal.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThis clearly counts as a <em><a href=\"\/fun\/terms-used-in-anime-reviews\/#iyashikei\">iyashikei<\/a><\/em> (healing) <a href=\"\/fun\/terms-used-in-anime-reviews#anime\">anime<\/a>. Most of these are pretty slow-moving. <em>Tamako Market<\/em> is faster-paced and funnier than most. Still it ultimately boils down to this: a shopkeeper&#8217;s daughter really loves her family&#8217;s mochi shop and the close-knit community where she grew up. End of story.<\/p>\n<p>I think this illustrates the principle that what makes a show great is not the originality of its premise but how well it is executed. This is a top-grade show from a top studio. It is funny and charming and heart-warming. If you watch it, it will make you feel good.
