I was a bit surprised when Binbougami ga! ended after 13 episodes. The way they were introducing new characters almost up to the end had me convinced that this had to be a 2 cour series.
Nevertheless they managed to come up with a reasonably satisfactory ending (with the promise of a sequel.) An ending that managed to make throwing someone into a pile of garbage seem heartwarming.
Yes this is all lightweight slapstick, but it’s an imaginative slapstick comedy that really seems to really care about its characters. It’s not just a bunch of random episodes. The author clearly has a complete story in mind (with an ending similar to what I suggested in my earlier post.)
This is head and shoulders above most shows of its type. Assuming that they get the funding for the promised sequel, let’s hope they can keep the writing on the same level.
